Kandy is the charming hill capital of Sri Lanka and the island’s second largest city. At an elevation of 465 meters above sea level, Kandy is located 129 Km North-East of Colombo. Nestling midst low hills, and looped by the Mahaweli river; Kandy is the country’s religious and cultural center and a World Heritage City.
What to Expect
After pickup at 8am proceed to Kandy. We will be visiting Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, Orchid greenhouse and the National Herbarium. Educative and informative visits to get to know about plant world.
After the Lunch Visit this sacred Buddhist site, popularly known as the city of Senkadagalapura, was the last capital of the Sinhala kings whose patronage enabled the Dinahala culture to flourish for more than 2,500 years until the occupation of Sri Lanka by the British in 1815. It is also the site of the Temple of the Tooth Relic (the sacred tooth of the Buddha), which is a famous pilgrimage site. To end the tour, we take you to attend the Kandy Cultural show which ends wth live fire walking.
